@EricFielding That sounds like a huge cost with little payoff. Given equipment and staff costs, would it have been more effective to change software?

@manton I flew Southwest this week. The flight attendant was super-scoldy on boarding. They NEEDED VOLUNTEERS TO COME FORWARD TO CHECK THEIR BAGS, and his tone of voice made it clear that he was very disappointed in us for failing to volunteer.

@cstross I don’t have a need for focused listening indoors. Under what circumstances do you use them? Noisy public places?

And yes the AirPods pro are the one category of Apple device where I’m tempted to upgrade every generation. For my MacBook, iPhone and Apple Watch, I keep using them until they don’t work anymore (or I get an insanely great upgrade deal, which we got for the iPhone — in 2024 I think). And I don’t see myself buying another ipad — I barely use it anymore.

@cstross I love my AirPods Pro. As important to me as my Mac and iPhone.
